the Juggler

Hey guys, long time no see.
I figured since I did a little bit of guest blogging over at Paul Brazil's site earlier in the week and gave old Anthony Neil Smith a little love, I thought it might be a good idea to stop over here to my much neglected red headed step child of a blog and put some words on the page.

So.....
Yeah.....

You know, believe it or not, there's an actual reason why I haven't been hanging around here all that much lately.

And the reason, you ask?

Well, I really I don't have all that much to talk about, and, shit, I'm busy.

In fact, I've been so busy lately that I feel like a circus juggler keeping six or seven flaming objects in the air all at once. And keeping up with this juggling act has been both exhilarating, fun, and at times extremely frustrating.

But for the most part, I've been having a blast.

I'm currently involved with a few personal projects including the current work in progress and revisions and tweaks on the previous work in progress. I'm gearing up to send out a slew of short stories, setting up some interviews for the new year, and plugging away at reviews for BSC. (Including my year end lists.)

But the project that's been absorbing the bulk of my time and that's been getting me the most worked up is the one project that I'm not quite ready to talk about yet, but it's truly something special. What I will let you know is that the project is a collaborative one and when it hits it is going to be HUGE......

And if I say anymore I'm going to let a whole slew of feral kitty cats out of the bag.

So, shit, here's some links:

In case you didn't notice, novelist extraordinaire Craig McDonald now has a blog. Make sure to check it out right HERE

Jed Ayres over at Hardboiled Wonderland gives Allan Guthrie the old burning spotlight and rubber hose to the kidneys treatment right HERE

Dan O'Shea does the same thing to super agent, Stacia Decker of Donald Maass Literary agency on what she looks for when she's wading through query letters and scouting prospective clients
(It's an audio interview, folks, and very worth your time for everyone out there who's getting ready to go agent hunting.) Check it out HERE.

Onto Markets:

Crime and Suspense e-zine is once again alive and kicking and on the look out for submissions
make sure to check it out right HERE PS editor Fred Snyder is also planning an annual print anthology so make sure to check it out.

Sniplits is a paying market and they accept just about every kind of fiction going. They do have reading periods for all genres, so make sure to check reading times before submitting. You can get the skinny right HERE.

Full of Crow is also on the hunt for new material. If you've never been to the Full of Crow website, it's a beautifully put together zine and chock full of all kinds of great cross genre poetry and fiction. Yeah, take a gander right HERE.

And last but not least, I want to give a shout out to Cormac Brown for making his Beat to a Pulp debut with his flash story, They Come From Above. The story is suspenseful and has one of the funniest pay offs I've read in a long time. Congrats, Cormac, it's one hell of a read!

Anyway, folks, see ya whenever I make it back here. (Which will most likely be when I post my next Flash Fiction Challenge piece on the 30th.)
