What I've been up to

Busy few weeks around the old Rawson house. Interviews, house guests of the Australian type, events at the daughters school, Crimefactory coming out my ears, new writing, old writing needing rewrites. (which I guess qualifies as new writing) You get the picture, a whole bunch of stuff going on and not enough time in the day to get it all done. Luckily I've been on vacation this week, so at least I don't have the the day job to deal with on top of the writing schedule. The coolest thing that happened this week is I got to meet and hang with my partner in Crimefactory, Cameron Ashley. As expected we ate and drank too much, talked writing and books, did a shitload of driving and thoroughly discussed the future of the magazine and the direction we'll be taking Crimefactory in the coming year. You can expect some major changes and a lot of fun developments, so stay tuned (At this moment we're almost finished with issue 5 of Crimefactory, so stay tuned.)

Alright, onto other stuff I've been up to, namely stories of mine that've popped up.
First is my piece, 602, in the A Twist of Noir 600-to-700 challenge. If you haven't seen the stories that Christopher Grant has posted so far check 'em all out right HERE. Next up is my story, A Pink Tidal Wave, in the anthology, Discount Noir. Damn proud to apart of this one. Here's the full line up: Patricia Abbott, Sophie Littlefield, Kieran Shea, Chad Eagleton, Ed Gorman, Cormac Brown, Fleur Bradley, Alan Griffiths, Laura Benedict, Garnett Elliot, Eric Beetner, Jack Bates, Bill Crider, Loren Eaton, John DuMond, John McFetridge, Toni McGee Causey, Jeff Vande Zande, James Reasoner, Kyle Minor, Randy Rohn, Todd Mason, Byron Quertermous, Sandra Scoppettone, Stephen D. Rogers, Steve Weddle, Evan Lewis, Daniel B. O'Shea, Sandra Seamans, Albert Tucher, Donna Moore, John Weagly, Keith Rawson, Gerald So, Dave Zeltserman, Dorte Hummelshoj Jakobsen, Jay Stringer, Anne Frasier, Kathleen A. Ryan, Eric Peterson, Chris Grabenstein and J.T. Ellison.
It's an impressive right up and you can find it right HERE at Untreed Reads.

Alright, last but not least, my story, Life on the Mesa, popped up at Beat to a Pulp. I worked on this story for nearly a year-and-a-half, so I'm pretty proud of it.
Speaking of Beat to a Pulp, the first Beat to a Pulp anthology hit the selves a couple of weeks back. The line up is a who's who of the new breed of crime and pulp writers, so make sure to pick up your copy right HERE.
Last but far from least, Crimefactory favorite and good friend Frank Bill made up a video trailer for Beat to a Pulp round 1. It's pretty damn cool and you can check it out below.
Alright, gang, gotta split and get ready to take the daughter and her best friend to the zoo
